April 2017 - Pastor Dan

As I have been considering the Easter message for the newsletter, I have taken time to consider the stirring Easter brings to my soul. Mostly my time in prayerful consideration consists of memories washing over my mind and heart like the ocean washing back and forth on the shoreline beach; one memory after another washes over me and then recedes, making room for another. Images of icons and smells of incense come as I remember celebrating Easter in the Orthodox Church. Memories of numbing sunrise services in which the appearance of the sun brought a hope that in an hour, I'll once again have feeling in my hands. Memories of Easter baskets in the hallway outside our bedroom doors in the house in which we were raised. See's candies. It ain't Easter without See's candies!!

With each wave of memory and image washing over me I come to realize that the most powerful stirring in my heart and soul are the people which made these images and memories worth keeping.

May one of the most precious Easter gifts we experience the Easter be the realization that our family, our friends, our brothers and sisters in Christ, both past and present are still at work shaping our Easter morning because He IS Risen.

May you have a Blessed Easter.

In Christs love and service,
